About Alison Louise Designer Cakes

Alison began her career as a chef in North East Victorias best restaurants. Always passionate about anything sweet Alison moved to Melbourne to work with two of Australia's finest pastry chefs, Phillipa Sibley at Ondine and Laurent Meric at Cacao Fine Chocolates and Patisserie. After working in Melbourne Alison travelled to the UK and Europe where she had the opportunity to work with London's leading wedding cake designer, Mich Turner at Little Venice Cake Company. While working in London Alison developed a passion for cake decorating, learnt a whole new range of skills and also had the chance to make cakes for a number of celebrities. Returning to Australia Alison wanted to continue to make expertly handcrafted and delicious cakes so she developed what is now Alison Louise Designer Cakes. Alison has written two cookbooks, 'Macaron' is in book stores now and is a guide to making the perfect macaron. Alison's second book 'Baking' will be an essential addition to every keen baker's bookshelf, due for release early 2011. |
